Educating
Children Through Music
Finding an activity that
children enjoy and can be passionate about is
sometimes a very difficult task. Music is usually
a great venue for motivating children. There are
loads of programs and sources that will help
foster music appreciation.

Try not
to worry if your child wants to be an Itzach Perlman or
Garth Brooks, Snoop Dog or Boy George. The point is that
you need to feed their creative interests. Support them
in their choices and explain why you think one choice is
better than another. Convience them what is right, do not
force them against their will.
Just because they like
classical music and you enjoy country, that is no reason
to discourage learning. If they are willing to work hard
to become a classical musician, as a parent, you need to
encourage their dreams and support their efforts.
Remember that children are easily discouraged and your
disapproval of their choices could just result is them
giving up all together or choosing radically against your
beleifs.
